This just in… I’m back on the pump! Okay, well I’m trying it.
I’m trying an old pump technique on a new pump. Essentially, I’m now using two adhesives to keep the pod down. First, I apply a layer of Mastisol (aka, ‘skin glue’). I then attach the pod. Lastly, I apply a strip of Tegaderm that anchors the pod in place.
This may seem a lot of work, but it’s worth it for the convenience. And speaking of convenience, pumps are more convenient than shots. After being on MDI for the past couple of months, and being more disciplined in my eating, I’m thankful to be trying the pump again. If the exercise kills both of these adhesives, then it’s back on MDI. No big deal. My blood sugar average for the past 3 days, while on the pump, has been a 105.
As diabetics, we must stay fluid to take proper care of ourselves. Since my last A1c was a 6.4, I’m now aiming for a 6 and stay in that 6.0 – 6.4 range. If I keep eating right, exercising, and frequently monitor my blood sugar, I can do it.
awesome, I know you can get to your A1c goal!
Great Job, Congrats on the A1c…
